January 09, 2012 - "God does not punish, I know our flesh wants to blame someone- step outside the box, what is God trying to show you? Suicide is not the way out and you are not a failure.
I recently gave everything "my life" to my job. I recently realized the enemy was using my job to distract me from what was really happening at home. Last Wednesday I received shocking news that I was being demoted-after long years of service and committment. I was angry and upset and hurt. Before finding this out- I was dealing with my son still being addicted to drugs and now heroin. I too was at a loss and was thinking maybe if I was gone, my son would wake up. He finally was doing better, so I thought, Tuesday night I woke up to him and his girlfriend fighting and it all came out. Wednesday I found out about the demotion. Friday, I realized I let my job come before my family. I realized I needed a break and needed to be here. Tonight, my ex and his wife, my sister and her boyfriend helped my to help him and get him off to a Christian Drug Rehab and he is in God's hands now. I also have time to recover myself from the 6 years of becoming dependent on helping him. We prayed tonight and declared angels be with him on the bus to Alabama, we declared him be free from evil and his addictions, we declared God reveal himself to him and that he be used for God's purpose we declared healing for myself. :) Have to let it go...
I pray for you tonight and I declare in the name of Jesus the negative thoughts are removed from your mind and I declare in the name of Jesus you will look up to God and rise above what is holding you back and I declare in the name of Jesus you will stop the self pity and complaining because it is just keeping you remaining in the same situation. I declare in the name of Jesus you will find the strength for you and your family to move forward and recover from what is holding you back. I thank you Lord for revealing to me where I fell short and I thank you Lord for looking over my son and I thank you Lord for all you do for me and my family and all the many blessings you have given. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
A lot of what was revealed to me was through watching TD Jakes and Joyce Meyers... God will never fail you!

December 30, 2011 - "There is also a place in Woodlawn called Christ of Hope. They base what you pay on your income. I took chemo and radiation for breast cancer and it just killed my teeth. I was ashamed to go anywhere for fear of what people would think of me. I got in touch with them and they have helped me alot. They are located in Woodlawn where the old Eastside Health Department used to be and they were very good to me. Look them up and call and they will explain the pay scale. Good Luck and God Bless."

She has saved her from the streets and additional drug use. Please tell her to stay under the radar at the Foundry and she will make it this time. This program will work if you let it. My son was in the Foundry and also waiting to return in 30 days. He is homeless and can never come back home. I feel for you as a parent. November 28, 2011 - "Mom - what a huge blessing the judge put her in jail for 30 days....just think - she is safe there. And, you never know how God is going to use her time at the Foundry to minister to those women in jail (apparently He is already doing that - 2 girls). I believe Tamara's situation is no different than Joseph's (read Genesis 37 to the end of Genesis) - God will not put us anywhere that He hasn't equipped us to endure. Trust God with where she is and know that something good will come of this (another promise - Romans 8:28). Mom, your job is to trust the Lord, pray, and believe that what God has begun He will complete! I pray for Tamara that she stands tall and embraces her circumstances, knowing that the trying of her faith will produce much growth in her and the comfort she has received from God, she will be able to comfort those who need comforting. God is good! Be blessed and I look forward to hearing a good report."

Sometimes, when i need to hear from God, i will turn on my worship music, and lift my hands to him, and sing my heart out, God loves when we love on him, and i always feel so close to him when i worship, other times, i just get real still, and know that he is God, go where you wont be interrupted, and think about how wonderful he is, and how beautiful his face is. When we really seek him, we are actually getting so close to him, and if you do this often, it wont be long, until you can start hearing his voice. Even when we don't realize it, the type of music we listen to, or too much t.v. can seem as though we cant hear God, we need an open line to Heaven, be aware of your surroundings, and try to keep it Holy! then you can and will hear from God. I too pray for an awakening for my son. He wants to quit, but unrealistically thinks he can do it on his own. Until he can admit powerlessness, he won't reach out to his Higher Power for strenght. December 30, 2010 - "Hi, I felt the need to pray for you and your son. I think maybe its because when my brother, who is a current resident of the Foundry, was arrested on charges of manufacturing, he had his newspaper picture spread across Facebook and comment after comment was made; I felt a rising in my spirit, an anguish that led me to public plead with my Heavenly Father to take this addiction from him, but not only to remove the addiction, but I PLEADED for God to remove my brother's free will and thoughts during this instance, so he no longer had a choice. I begged God to SLAM it into my brother so hard, that he did not know when he stopped running from Christ but only knew he had to seek Him.
I can tell you God is faithful. All the time. Even though I know I will never be worthy of the Grace and the Love God has for me, I know that I am STILL a favored daughter, and since I am no better than my brother, God must love him and watch over him just as deeply. Within a couple of months, my brother was clearheaded and anxious to start a new life. I thank God for being faithful. I thank Him for loving us and offering Grace and forgiveness. I have prayed the same prayer just now for your son. That he no longer has a CHOICE in whether or not he will take drugs. That he stops immediately. The desire is stripped from him with such force that he is powerless, and that THAT desire is replaced with a calmness, a surety that someone BIGGER than all of us loves all of him. November 19, 2010 - "I am 4 months pregnant, and I want you to know that I am praying for you and your family. I know the Christian walk is a struggle. I have been through ups and downs in my relationship with Christ. My husband has as well, and I pray that our daughter and our future children will not make the same mistakes that we have. It is hard to raise children in this society. Sex and violence is shoved in our face on the television, radio, internet, and by our peers. Christians are a minority, and we need to pray for each other to increase God's kingdom. It's scary to think about the things our children face. November 16, 2010 - "My most humbling experience was when I was faced with 25 years to life in federal prison, I turned my life over to Jesus, I didn't get to come home and ended up taking a guilty plea for 5 years. During that 5 long years I learned who I was, and who Jesus had created me to be, when he gave me the holy spirit that was the hope I needed to survive each day and learn and grow closer to Christ. I ask in Jesus Name that your daughter be delivered from depression, and no matter what man tells her that she would know you father have come and died for her and love her unconditionally no matter what she has done, You father will forgive her for her wrongs. All she must do is ask. I pray also for the mother that you oh Lord will give her a peace that passes all understanding, In Jesus Name, Amen.

I robbed, cheated , stole; Anything just to fill the void that was in my life.I tried rehab , 12 step programs, cold turkey. Nothing worked until one glorious day JESUS sent HIS HOLY SPIRIT into my life. Without HIM there is NO healing. With HIM there is NO failure. Once you truly recieve JESUS into your heart, you cannot enjoy your old lifestyle. There is no greater high than a dose of the HOLY GHOST. Confess your sins to GOD ( HE already knows them ) then HE will teach you new and awesome things about life, not death. Its all written in the Bible , but unless your eyes have been opened by belief, you can never understand.
The Foundry is one of the best places where addicts & alcholics can meet JESUS.HE is not surprised, HE knew you were an addict before HE called you. If you want to change your life , stay at the Foundry because there you will hear JESUS'S message , see it in action, and learn the Truth about yourself and why you have been doomed to failure. Without the LORD JESUS you are just the devils toy, he will use you, abuse you , send you to a living hell untill he is through with you. Then he will send you to hell for eternity. JESUS CHRIST is the only way out of this maddness.Repent, be Baptized, and learn to live the way GOD intended.You will be truly happy and blessed. GOD has plans for you."

So Father please direct their minds and order their steps in your word that they may understand that you know the plans you have for each of them. Please pray that the Lord and the legal system will be merciful to him. After his relapse in 2010 he spent 6 months in a Christian residental rehab progam and is now in a Christian halfway house. "
September 21, 2011 - "Praise report & prayer request. Charges from March 2011 were dismissed.Unfortunately he was arrested again when a pain pill was found in his vehicle during a traffic stop. Again, it stems from his giving a friend a ride. His PO & the judge have agreed to release him to a half way house. Girlfriend & his son are doing well in TX. Please pray that his remaining legal problems will be resolved,that his recovery from addiction will be complete, and that he will be united with his son. "
March 27, 2011 - "My son is still committed to his recovery & his walk with the Lord but he has been jailed on a serious charge for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. He made the mistake of agreeing to give an old acquaintance a ride. Please pray that the authorities will realize that he is innocent & will drop the new charges. The acquaintance has signed a statement that my son was not involved in any way."
January 20, 2011 - "Update. Son was released to a local Chriatian Rehab Facility. He is struggling some, this program does not seem to be as Spirit-filled or as well organized as the Foundry. He still has to go to court on his drug charge from this summer.
Ex-girl friend moved to Texas. In December she contacted us. She has had a premature baby who could possibly be our son's child. Since they were released from the hospital we have been unable to contact her.
Please pray for all 3 of them."

February 03, 2010 - "I just want you to know that your story sounds so much like me back when I was in my awful addiction.I too was on drugs and did alot of bad things.I stole from my family members and pawned them,I broke in houses just to steal pills.I stole from my own mother and father and took there stuff to get money or drugs.I was in so much trouble with the law and with my family members and I was so ashamed to even look at any of them,But in all honesty at that time in my life I really did not care!The drugs were formost the most important thing in my life.One day I was in withdrawls and needed something bad and broke in a house and I got caught by the owner as I was climbing back out of the window(thank GOD).I jusy want you to know that if it was not for them catching me then I dont know where I would be today.After that my church got me into the foundry and GOD touuched my life and I excepted him as my Lord and savoir.I stayed at the foundry and I graduated the program after a year.I worked at the foundry while I was in the program and after I graduated I stayed and worked there for about 6 or 7 more months.I want you to know that once God is in control of his situation that that is the only one that matters.GOD Has your granson in his arms and he is carrying him and taking care of any situation that comes his way.There is no possible way that the old devil can come between GOD and your granson.As soon as I gave GOD my life and completed the program all my charges were dismissed.All my family members hugged me and told me they loved me and were proud of me.My wife and Kids are in my life today because of the foundry.What an Awsome place to get GOD,Get Recovery,and gain everything back in your life.I will always Love the foundry for everything they did for me and my family.If I would have been a smart man I would have stayed there and worked so that I could have truly been blesses everyday of my life.Pastor Bill is awsome and a Great man of god and so are the staff members there.My words to you are,Let your granson stay and finish his blessing(the program)and I promise you that with GOD in control everything else will fall into place.Everything that means nothing is exactly that"nothing".The only thing that is important right now for your granson is GOD,THE FOUNDRY,HIS PRAYER LIFE.If he keeps all that and finishes the program you watch and see that everything else will go away.GOD is on your gransons side.Let him take it day by day and get all that he needs before he gets out.The devil sent him that letter and I truly belevive that it is as good as burned up....Let go and let GOD..I am praying for your granson and you and the family.I promise you that I will be praying everyday for all of you to have strength,wisdom,FAITH, and also a calmimg spirit.Good luck to all of you and GOD bless,Please if you need anything,even just to talk,or pray you can reach me at jeffbrasher75@yahoo.com....Sorry for the long reply but your letter just touched my heart.GOD bless you"

I am also a graduate and understand the condemnation that you experience when we have allowed our selfishness and our own desires within us to take root. I was clean for 6 years and worked in ministry. When I relapsed, I tried everything that I could possibly think of to overcome the shame I felt without using cocaine. But I eventually isolated myself from everyone healthy around me leaving me more alone than I thought I could ever feel. After years of running God has recaptured my heart and taught me that I must face my choices and their consequences if I ever intend for the restoration of all things to take place. November 17, 2009 - "Some words for Kevin. Kevin, I almost bled to death in a matter of moments from tumor (cancer) in my stomach. I had a healthcare background so I knew the score as soon as I started throwing up massive amounts of blood in 1981. I was 36 with a wife and a 1 year old daughter. I asked my father to forget the amublance, get me a pan to catch the blood in so I could keep up with what I was loosing. Dad and Mom rush me the the Hospital ER in Florence SC. The nurse at the desk called code 99 -- patient dying. On the stretcher in the ER while the nurses and physicians were trying to cram an NG tube down in to my stomach to evacuate the blood and gavage my stomach with ice water and the nurses were squeezing the blood bag to literally force the blood into my veins the following took place. With tears running from my open eyes, not from fear, but making my last pray to my Heavenly Father I said " Father, if you are ready for me to come home, I'm ready and or if there is still work you have for me to do tell me and I will do it. The pray was no more out of my mouth and the hemorage stopped completely. One hour later they took me to the GI Lab, scoped my stomach and found nothing. An hour after that they took me to Radiology and did an arterogram of my abdomin and chest. Nothing. Kevin this was a miricial of bibicial proprotions, but is is documented in the medical records. The reason I'm telling you this is the Lord has never once told me to do anything other than follow in his ways. I help people when I can, I lift them up when I can. Be persisant. Go to vocational rehabilation maybe training for another field or profession can change your life. The department of Human Services should be able to help you along these lines. October 06, 2009 - "WE will pray for you. My son was in Houston in jail. Just knowing that the Foundry would accept him and so he could get to the foundry( along with all the prayers) that he was willing to take the DA's plea and go to prison and then go to the foundry, moved the judge to dismiss his recent charges and put him back on his origiNAL probation so that he can get to the foundry someday. Unfortunately there is a restraining order against Texas Judges not to let PROBATIONERS leave the state. But just seeing our son's desire for the Foundry, moved the Judge to make it possible for him to get there sometime and kept him from going to state prison. God gives us what we need, not always is that what we want."

I can't even began to know how hard it is to get your life right, but I do know that you are in the right place. I love the Foundry and what it has done for Sam as well as you and others. God has a plan, if we just don't mess it up. Hope that I can meet you when we come to church on the 13th. Sam also had mixed feelings about leaving. He has no idea where or what God has in store. I was hoping that it would be up there somewhere, perhaps at the Foundry, but I am praying for God's will.

November 17, 2009 - "Do the right thing for your family rebuild your life that's what they want more than any gift that could be given to them. My son is addicted. I would give anything to see him turn his life around and move forwar and never look back. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time, however making the same mistake twice is not what you or they would want you to do. Be thankful that if you keep working to control your destinity you will rejoin those you love and they will be glad to have you back without the addiction. I'm sure by now you know what the triggers are and I pray that you avoid trigger situtation and associate only with folks you would like to be like. Guess what soon you will adapt your own traits that will mimick theirs. Be proud of yourself and don't set such lofty goals that they are to much to achieve in short order. Live life a day at the time. I once had a boss who told me when I was struggling to defeat cancer and was very sick and taking treatment after treatment. He said, you know how to eat an elephant? I said no. He said one bite at a time. It helped me get from one day to the next. I quit worrying about tomorrow, and set my goal to get from day to day and week to week. After 7 months if finished my chemo and radiation and the cancer was gone. I had to go through a lot of the treatments by myself and no one drove me to the radiation treatments. They were wearing me out it was everything I could do to make myself go the last two weeks of radiation. I was 36 then, I'll soon be going on 63. Be tuff and do the right thing for yourself and them. Call them and tell them you miss them and love them and you will see them soon after you finish your program. May God give you the courage and strength to continue on through life and stay strong. With all my prayers for you."

It is such a gift to see the people we love doing well! Pray and believe that God will show up in the most surprising and exciting ways in your family's lives while you are away. He is faithful - You can choose well and He will take care of what you can't."
September 07, 2009 - "I understand what you are saying, what you fear; but if you are with your family during the holidays and are abusing alchohol/prescription drugs, you have failed. So, what do you have to lose in committing to a long term program? It's all about surrender; you should have more guilt in NOT getting the help that you need. A long term program now can hopefully allow you to have many happy family holidays in the future. I am praying that you will make the right decision."

September 05, 2009 - "I will definitely be praying for this sweet family. This topic is so near and dear to my heart. I work at Sav-A-Life. We have a program called EWYL (Earn While You Learn). This is a wonderful program that provides girls and women to learn about their trimesters as well as parenting all the way up to your child is 12 years of age. There is so much help out there. Please let her know that. I work at the Roebuck office but the Sav-A-Life's around the B'ham area have this program as well. The girls earn Mommy money for the lessons they do and that gives them an opportunity to purchase things in our baby store. Please let the Mom know she is not alone in this and that God would not have allowed that sperm & egg to unite without HIS plan in mind. May God's peace surround this precious family. Jeannie"

I have not senn them in 5years and I have been praying for there return.I chose to do drugs and live a life of partying and wasn't cancerned for the welfare of myself or my children. court will be coming up soon and I will find out if I get to visit with them or never see them until they are grown. Just continued on a bad path. Hard feelings abounded. We finally realized that God had given us a call to raise these children into the Kingdom of God. Some he calls to be missionaries, others he calls to raise children who will be missionaries. We have forgiven all, and now feel our call. Forgive and let God give you a new perspective. First let me say that I could never understand your pain, however having a good deal of experience in addiction counseling tells me that you truly understand how difficult an addiction can be. Understanding that you have a problem is the first step in overcoming.
I truly beleive that God understands your feelings of despair. I also believe that once you get through this valley you will be an incredible role model for someone else who is going through the same experience. Please don't lose hope. May 29, 2009 - "Allison: Don't be discouraged by this set back. Satan is wanting you to believe the lie that now that you have used again you need it. Every morning when you arise, let Christ capture every thought by asking Him to. When thoughts of using come into your head, ask Christ to capture that thought right then. Additionally, I feel you may need to go to a healing place for some additional rebuking of the spirit of addiction trying to reenter your life. A suggestion would be the Advocate Center in Irondale - their Healing Room on Tuesday nights. God has given them an annointing for setting people free and helping them to stay free. I am praying for you and will be rebuking this spirit over addiction over your life. Linda "
