Got a Gift for Organization?
When you coordinate a drive for The Foundry, we'll use your donation to feed and care for the homeless, the addicted and the needy. Here are fun and simple ideas for all ages!
- Hold a "scavenger hunt" for items on our needs lists.
- Hold a drive at your workplace, church, school or meeting hall. (We can supply a speaker if requested.)
- Invite coworkers or classmates to bring groceries, healthcare or other items and take a tour of The Foundry.
- Take a special offering at church for The Foundry
- Take your kids shopping for items on our list then bring them for a tour.
- Purchase gift cards at Sam's Club so we can shop for items in bulk.
Organize one of these collections or make up one of your own!
- Showers of Blessing: a collection of soap, towels, washcloths and other items for bath and body.
- Tubs of Love: fill 20-gallon tubs with items from our needs list. We'll use the items contained to help our residents and low-income neighbors; our residents will use the tubs for storage.
- Medicine Chest: collect headache medications, nonalcoholic cold medicines and other over-the-counter products (we'll supply you with a complete list).
- Snack Attack: coordinate a drive for juice boxes, graham crackers, Goldfish and other kid-type snacks for our outreach to neighborhood low-income children.
Tips for Giving Donations
We appreciate the generosity of our donors who provide so many of the necessities we use or distribute to our residents and the needy each day. Here are some tips for donating:
- Please ask yourself before giving an item: Would I wear/use this myself or give it to a friend?"
- We cannot lawfully use home-canned food or opened containers of food, medications or healthcare items.
- We cannot use gifts that are torn, stained, broken or otherwise in need of repair.
- Check our Web site and newsletters for our most current in-kind needs, or call us for specific information.
